INTRODUCING MYSELF :)
Updated: Aug 16
Hi! My name is Marit. When traveling, people know me as "Marz," because Marit is often quite difficult to pronounce ;)
I lived in the Netherlands until I was 11. My father, mother, sister, and I emigrated to Bonaire in 2014. I attended and completed high school there and had a fantastic childhood. Bonaire shaped and developed me in a beautiful and special way. I returned to the Netherlands in the summer, before my 19th birthday (2021), to study.
The first year was fantastic. What a freedom and what a different life. After this euphoria, a turning point occurred in my second year of studying, and I noticed that I was really struggling. I just had no idea what it was. I had a nice room in Leeuwarden, I liked my study, had a weekend job, and lovely people around me. Yet, I was constantly very emotional, got irritated easily, and felt very sensitive towards the outside world.
So, it was time for a change. In January 2023, I came into contact with a coach who introduced me to other possibilities, old dreams, and also patterns that no longer served me.
I set off on a journey in April! With only two ideas in mind: I'm going to Thailand, and I also want to go to Bali.
In the end, I did indeed visit Thailand, several islands in Indonesia including Bali, as well as Malaysia, and I eventually ended up in Australia for nearly a year. I was on the road for a total of 14 months!
I was introduced to yoga and just wanted more: more practice, more knowledge, and more learning. Back in the Netherlands, I could think of only one thing: I want to learn yoga, and I want to be able to carry it to others in the right way. And this has to happen in India. At the roots of yoga.
Time to make this dream reality! After being on Bonaire for a while and spending a few months in the Netherlands, I returned to my beloved Australia in November 2024.
Six months later, it was time to actually head towards India. With a clear goal in mind: Yoga and Indian spiritual wisdom!
To be continued...
Lots of love,
Marit
